Hey there MVS Community! We wanted to take a moment to talk about some of the awesome things that are on the way in Season 2 and reflect on some of our big Season 1 milestones. In Season 2, you’ll for sure be seeing new characters, a new map, music and more! On top of delivering tons of new goodies for you to enjoy, our goal in Season 2 is to refine the MVS experience and to make each game mode as exciting, rewarding and polished as possible. Let’s dive in!

Season 2

New Characters: New roster additions are incredibly exciting, so we figured we’d give you a bit of a tease of one of the new characters who will be joining the MVS roster in Season 2! Hailing from the planet Mars and sent to destroy Earth with his Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator, Marvin the Martian will soon be making his way to MultiVersus, in yet another fruitless attempt to claim victory. We’ll have more information about Marvin and his kit soon, so hang in there!

New Map: Winter is Coming… and along with it, a new map! That’s right, in Season 2 we’re introducing an all new Game of Thrones themed map with all the hazards and pitfalls you’d come to expect from the land of Westeros. Soon you’ll be able to hurl your opponents away from the Iron Throne while humming an all-new remix of the awesome Game of Thrones theme music which has been composed with multiple sections that can transition dynamically depending on what mayhem is taking place in the match. When you play the Game of Thrones map, you win or you… fall off the map.

Network & Latency Improvements: Since the Open Beta launch, we’ve made many optimizations to MVS to improve performance. We recently implemented multi-path network traffic acceleration to improve stability and latency, which will lead to a much improved online experience for players worldwide. This is just the beginning and we’ll be continuing to invest in and improve in this area. This is a priority for us and the team is hard at work at making the online experience amazing!

New Battle Pass: We’re happy to share a little information about our Season 2 Battle Pass which is chock full of new badges, icons/profile icons, banners and taunts for you to unlock and enjoy! Season 2 will boast fun new Character Variants to collect along both the Free and Premium tracks such as Baker Street Tom & Jerry and Astronaut Velma. If Ringouts happen to be your thing, we’re also adding some new additions such as Toxic Explosion and Lava Breath that are sure to demoralize your opponents in the flashiest way possible.

Season 1 Highlights

Characters: Rick, Morty, Gizmo, Stripe, Black Adam

We came out swinging during Season 1 and added a range of fan-favorite characters to the game, such as Rick, Morty, Gizmo, Stripe and Black Adam. Each new addition to the MultiVersus roster brought more variety, personality and team-up possibilities to MVS, and it’s our hope to continue to surprise you in the coming seasons.

Map: Space Jam

Everyone’s favorite cosmic basketball court became available during Season 1 in custom and lab games and we’re happy to share that the Space Jam map will soon be available in other modes as well! Unique to this map, Space Jam requires you to make upward or sideways eliminations and includes a surprisingly lethal basketball that can be used as a projectile in combat! Introducing maps with unique features is so much fun for us and the Space Jam map is just the beginning of what we have in the works.

Modes: Ranked, Arcade, Silly Queue

Ranked Mode is just getting started! Internally, we treated Ranked Mode as a trial in Season 1 and used it to test both rank progression, server stress and get feedback from players. In the future, the queue for Ranked Mode will be a unique and independent one that rewards your ranked progression in addition to the progression you receive in other modes. Players wishing for a more competitive MultiVersus experience will surely like what we have in store for Ranked and we can’t wait to see the best of the best compete for MVS glory!

We recently introduced Arcade Mode, which at its core, is a PVE gauntlet that grants improved rewards as you climb further up the ladder. Arcade Mode is also a great way to experiment with new characters and team compositions before playing them against other players. Hop into Arcade Mode with a friend and work on honing your skills as you battle increasingly difficult A.I. controlled enemies. Arcade Mode is still in its early stages of development and we plan on adding more unique and outlandish variations to its gameplay as it grows and changes.

Separate from the regular 1v1 and 2v2 queue, Silly Queue introduced unique and quirky gameplay elements into the game that might be viewed as a bit too whacky for serious competitive play. Sometimes you just want to blow off some steam and have as much fun as possible with some truly wild matches. Silly Queue is really all about focusing on fun and creativity, so look for more of that in Season 2.

Event: Halloween

MVS got a bit spooky this year with our very first MultiVersus Halloween event! We wanted to overstuff our awesome community with treats, so we introduced seven new Halloween skins as well as two Epic character variants that were available for trade using both Gleamium and our temporary (yet delicious) Candy currency. As an extra added incentive, wearing your Halloween themed character costumes yielded a bit more Candy to further sweeten the deal. Oh, and don’t worry we have a Winter themed event right around the corner.

Thank you!

Again, thanks so much for being part of the MultiVersus community! As MultiVersus is an ever-evolving game which is currently still in Open Beta, we very much appreciate your feedback as we strive to make the game the best it can be. Be sure to reach out and let us know what you think and follow us on YouTubeTwitterFacebook and Instagram and come hang out in our official Discord. We’re excited to show off what’s coming in Season 2 and we’re elated to have you along for the ride.
